About the Journal

Opinions in Medical Sciences Technology & Health (OMSTH) is a single-blind, peer–reviewed, multi-disciplinary journal with three issues in a year. The journal is the flagship publication of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science & Technology (SCTIMST). Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum, is an Institution of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament in 1980. The Institute has the status of a university with three wings - a tertiary referral super speciality hospital, a Biomedical Technology Wing and the Achutha Menon Centre for Health science Studies. OMSTH will cover clinical, technological and health innovations and reviews in these areas, emphasising the confluence of these fields that provides the greatest impact.

Scope of The Journal

Technology has been breaking boundaries in medical sciences. We here at SCTIMST were the torchbearers of innovations in medical sciences in India by the amalgamation with engineering, basic sciences and public health and were responsible for the development of the first indigenous aortic valve in India. The Chitra blood bag is another success story. At this juncture, as we complete 43 years of dedicated innovations to society, the knowledge and expertise we possess on the development, validation, clinical trials, translation and commercialisation of medical devices, delivering high-end medical care in neurological and cardiological disciplines and public health, we think it is time to share and hence this Journal.

The Journal will publish reviews in the field of medical sciences with a focus on cardiological and neurological sciences, biomedical technologies and public health.
